Keep an eye on that 60 year old crackhead grounds keeper. Guy is a thief

If you love getting accosted in the parking lot by the older guy who works here, you are going to LOVE this golf course. I'm from Syracuse originally and I've been golfing for 20 years. This is a true story; I came back to the clubhouse with my friend after we finished golfing and there was a middle-aged guy cleaning carts that yelled at me (swearing to my face) because we brought the carts back at 8:20pm, and they were due in at 8:15pm - Which was a rule he must have made up like right there on the spot, because... he's the cart guy, and it's a really important job with a lot of ins and outs, a lot of responsibilities. You wouldn't understand. I think he was drunk too. I honestly thought he was joking because it was hilarious how angry he was. Seconds later, an older guy comes swaying out of the clubhouse, blind drunk, with bloodshot eyes and starts screaming at me, about a foot away from my face. He was literally acting like an escaped mental patient. I was so confused, I immediately put my mask up because he was spitting on me while he furiously screamed profanities. Apparently the 6 feet apart rule didn't apply to him. For about a minute or so he flailed his arms, pointed his finger, swore a bunch, and paced around with veins popping out of his forehead. I don't think I've ever seen someone so angry. It was as if he was in a cage out back all day, being prodded with a stick and someone just let him loose. Turns out he was screaming at me and my friend because he thought we only paid for 9 holes. I looked into his blank, glazed over stare, and explained that I paid for 18 holes. I think it's safe to say it was a slight overreaction on his part. He didn't believe me that I paid. Shocker. This guy was clearly unstable or possibly off his meds. Or, maybe around 8:30pm every night he's finally high enough on bath salts to start a fight in the parking lot with the first person he sees. I'm not really sure of his schedule. Anyway, he started to follow me, and block me (still screaming the whole time) as I made my way to my car and my friend tried calming him down. I looked back and saw a couple more workers gathering under the lights of the clubhouse outside the bar. My friend suggested we get out of there before some more inbred, insane family members do God knows what to us. All in all though it was a pretty interesting time. I definitely got some good characters for my next script. Also, the golf course is in pretty bad shape. There are plenty of other places to play. Should you decide to go here though, just make sure you get the carts in by 8:15pm or the old guy will likely try to roundhouse kick you.

The worst experience on a golf course I've had in years. Two members of our foursome are over the age of 60, and right off the bat, the owner berated us for wanting seperate carts and said that he wished he could "charge is more money"...

The course itself was once a beautiful layout, but is now in completely embarassing shape. After the 2nd hole there simply weren't blue tee markers, so we had to sort of guess where we should play from over the final 16 holes. On more than one hole we had to pick weeds on the tee box to clear a spot for our drives because they weren't mown, and the fairways were so ragged that we all made a rule after the 3rd hole that you could adjust your lie if your ball was in the fairway so you weren't penalized for a shot in the middle of the fairway that covered a quarter of your ball.

There are so many great courses in CNY that you can play for a similar price that I don't see any reason why myself or anyone I know who plays should ever go back

UNBELIEVABLY TERRIBLE SERVICE! Just moved to Syracuse from NYC three weeks ago. Called and booked tee time, told me course schedule was "wide open" all day. Arrived at course to discover tournament was scheduled. Went to tee off and discovered 3 groups of 4 waiting to tee off ahead of me. Asked manager for refund or rain check, he was extremely rude and reluctant. He tried to tell me there was no tournament going on. There was a putting, closest to hole and long drive contest plus a tournament sign. I've played golf for over 20 years and know a tournament when I see one. He then had the audacity to tell me "this ain't New York City kid." First of all, I grew up in St. Lawrence County, second of all I'm close to 30 and not a "kid." Manager finally gave me a rain check but was a coward and would not even look me in the eye while being a complete wanker.
