It was a nice day to play there, but the course has a lot of pit falls which caused for a terrible day. 1st the starter told us to try to keep the round under 5 hours, well it took us 5 hours and 45 minutes because there was a group of drunks playing a few groups ahead of us, and they got warned 3 times, but no improvement. We looked back at a par 3 on top of a hill and we counted 8 power carts. Every tee box that we got to there were a group in the fairway, a group ahead of us, and behind us. To speed up play the starter told us that there is no rakes in the bunker, so just hit and leave it(well really there wasn't much sand in the bunker anyways). The carts should of had governors on it as the cart was squealing going down the steep cart paths. No GPS on the carts, so they couldn't track anyone. The started pointed to a tree on top of the hill and told us that is where the course developer envisioned the course layout, but he couldn't see a full driving range as it is irons only, plus a very small practice putting green and no flags. Chances of us coming back to this course is slim. It is a wannabe high end course.
Absolutely amazing course. Stunning scenery of the surrounding hills and in March it is quite nice. The grass was some of the best I have ever been on. The greens were well maintained and the paths in great condition. As each tee is elevated, it is imperative you avoid being visually compelled to try and hit the ball harder. The ball carries very well so just check your carry distances and you can navigate the tee shots pretty well. The hillsides are littered with the reminders of those who came before that could not. I definitely will make this course a must play whenever I am in the Las Vegas area in the future.
Simply stunning and like nothing else I've ever played. There's not a single hole on the course that's boring or mundane. Don't let the yardage on the card fool you... it's not terribly long from the whites or blues but that certainly doesn't mean it's easy! Don't even think about the black tees unless your at least a scratch golfer. During your first time out it can be quite challenging to pick the right club and target from the extremely elevated tees, but that's part of the fun. When I played they had just reopened after the annual re-seeding so the fairways were quite long and fluffy... but that's a necessary evil for courses in the area. Greens were still excellent though. Pace of play can be a bit on the slower side, but given the amazing scenery that was almost a plus and gave us a chance to soak it all in. This is not the sort of course for a quick 3.5 hour round. Driving range is irons only, but that's fine for just getting warmed up pre-round. There's also a practice bunker on the range. Course staff was extremely welcoming. Will certainly be back.
I made the 90 mile drive from Las Vegas to play this course and found it to be well worth it. The course is a stunner, with dramatic scenery everywhere you look, huge elevation changes, intimidating tee shots, and just a feeling that you are playing someplace very special. Pace of play can be a bit slow, but understandable as you can't help but marvel at the scenic views and pop off a few photos. Service was wonderful, and the course design takes you past a drive thru snack shop every five holes or so.No gps in carts was a bit baffling considering the fee and the unusual nature of the course, but no big deal. No sprinkler problems and I didn't finish until 4pm or so. I can't imagine a disturbance at the course. Everyone basically feels privileged to be playing such a unique and scenic course. I've played golf in Vegas area many times and this course ranks way up there at the top. Worth every penny in my book. Can't wait to go back.
Great Course, but pace of play was a killer! It took us almost 6 hours to play. Everyone treated us great, but I think it is way over priced.
WOW what a course. If it were in Vegas city limits it'd cast $500+. Truly a MUST play. Going back this August.
